Avoid buying from Reformation

Bought 2 dresses from their store for my girlfriend, one had a defective zip, and one didn't fit. Refused a refund or exchange due to the items being sale items, even though their website says on every page "easy returns". If purchasing anything on sale from this website, know that you cant return it even if they send you broken goods. This should be, and I believe it likely is (for the defective item), illegal. Be wary of them.

Horrible Customer Service

I ordered a dress that was final sale. The dress description was "burgundy" and very dark/deep burgundy in the stock photos. The dress I received was almost orange and extremely cheaply made. I reached out to see if I could return the item for store credit because the color was so different from the listing. I had to email and text many times to get any response. The customer service agent acknowledged that the item color looked different from the stock image but basically said "too bad". Horrendous customer service for overpriced, poor quality items.

such beautiful clothing, only a couple caveats

bit the bullet and went to the reformation store in la yesterday -- i can't speak for their shipping, but the in-person store was just amazing. i don't think i've ever had a more luxurious fitting room experience.

i will say the staff were on top of me all the time (i was not the only customer inside), i'm not sure if it was good customer service or if it was because i had a backpack (i go to usc and had my backpack from class with me). it just made me a little nervous bc i have social anxiety lol.

i decided to buy a dress (around $270 including tax) because it fits me almost like it was tailored! the torso is a little long, but i'm 5'4, so i can't complain. it was my usual size, as well. so so flattering. material feels nice. my first reformation dress, and i want to wear it daily!

that being said, i still think reformation is overpriced. i understand they're sustainable, but i'm just not sure. if i didn't have the money to spend, i would never buy a dress from ref. the dresses are beautiful, but when i tried them on, i felt like i was trying on $100 dresses, not ones priced at nearly $300.

i wish they were able to take cash. i wanted to buy partially in cash, partially in card, but they said they can only take tap and apple pay, which was unfortunate.

Terrible quality not worth the $

Every single piece of clothing I’ve purchased from them has warped and worn out SO quickly. Faster than any fast-fashion item I’ve purchased. I’m a stylist and I know how to care for clothing to lengthen its life-span but reformation clothing is simply terrible quality.
Cashmere sweater pilled and stretched after two wears. A pair of jeans I’ve had less than a year got holes in the leg. The Mason trousers faded a dramatically after one wash. And other jeans have stretched and warped in shape almost immediately.
I will never spend money there again.

Absolutely horrendous quality

Absolutely horrendous quality. They sent me a dress with a completely unfinished hem and offered me 10 percent in compensation, which is insane after paying €135 for a dress. Never again. Don’t waste your money, terrible customer service.

Extremely expensive and very low…

Extremely expensive and very low quality clothes. Sizing is completely off. I recently purchased a top which was on sale (very small discount, still very expensive). Although I normally wear size 0, I purchased a size 2 due to their sizing problems. It was so small that I wasn’t even able to try it. Because there was a small discount, they did not allow me return it or exchange with a larger size. They are extremely strict, rude, and do not care. I am not sure what they are gaining by not allowing customers to exchange an item that is unworn (with tags); but they are definitely losing customers with their rude and strict attitude and by overcharging them for low quality products

Truly awful

Truly awful. This is the 4th time I’ve ordered from reformation. Never had an issue in the past. I’m trying to return an order and have been now for 13 days. By law, if you sell items online you need to offer a refund in the UK. They sent me a very strange returns label and I’ve been emailing back and forth every day, they keep asking me to go to DHL and try again when DHL have said this is obviously not something they will accept. I’ve had to open a dispute with my credit card company. I will never be able to order from them again even though I do like their clothes because I am
convinced they are in financial trouble, why else would they try and stall so many returns?

I think they are full of crap

I won’t spend the kind of money The Reformation expects for their subpar clothing if their business practices don’t match their message. And they do not.

You care about the planet but the jeans I bought on final sale can’t be exchanged for another size and therefore will likely go into a drawer to never be worn and therefore contribute to more waste? Geniuses.

And yes, let me spend the time asking questions about items that are marked down significantly low so that by the time I get a response, the item is gone.

You know, I’m sure other customers also get items that are final sale and don’t fit. Allowing customers to exchange their items FITS YOUR MESSAGE OF CARING FOR THE PLANET. Too expensive for such poor policies and customer service.

Can’t trust Ref

This company has some sketchy practices. They change policies constantly and they seem dishonest. More and more I’m realizing they’re not worth supporting. I wanted to support them, given their claims to be committed to more sustainable practices. I’m realizing if I can’t trust them based on their lack of transparency on their policies—that they like to change on a whim—how can I trust their claims on better business practices.

I also fully believe the critical reviews where people have had issues with quality and returns.

Still waiting

I ordered a cute blouse which cost 115.00 after the 10% off. When it arrived, I saw black dots on the right sleeve even before I took it out of the bag. I decided to return it. No one answers the phone. The directions they give are complicated and don’t work. You have to text your information to a cell phone number and wait for a response. Good luck with that.
